A 38-year-old man has been arrested by Tseki police in connection with the brutal murder of a 67-year-old man and the rape of the victim’s 85-year-old mother.
The suspect, a resident of Khosheng Section in Monontsha Village, was apprehended in the early hours of Monday, 15 September 2025. The arrest follows a violent incident that occurred on the evening of Sunday, 14 September 2025.
According to police reports, the incident began at approximately 22:30 when an intruder broke into the elderly woman’s home while she was asleep. Upon discovering the intruder, the 85-year-old woman called her son for assistance.
The son arrived at the scene and confronted the suspect. It is alleged that the suspect overpowered the man and fatally stabbed him multiple times. The son died instantly at the scene.
The suspect then allegedly turned on the 85-year-old mother and raped her.
Through rapid investigation, Tseki police were able to trace and locate the suspect, leading to his arrest just hours after the crimes were committed.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Tseki Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, where he will face formal charges of murder and rape.
