Two people sustained minor burns after a house fire broke out on Gladiolus Road, Newlands East, at 08h30 on 24 August 2025.
KZNVIP Control Centre received multiple reports via social media regarding the incident and immediately dispatched KZNVIP Response Officers and Medical Teams to the property.
Upon arrival, KZNVIP Response Officers and Medics made contact with the homeowner, who stated she had been at church when she received information that her house was on fire.
The circumstances leading up to the fire cannot be unconfirmed at this stage. The two occupants were reportedly asleep inside the property when the blaze broke out. They were both treated on scene by the KZNVIP Medical Teams for minor injuries.
The Fire Department was dispatched and attended to the scene.
