Police in Odendaalsrus have expressed gratitude to the community for their assistance in locating and arresting a 38-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of his 26-year-old girlfriend.
The investigation began after the lifeless body of the young woman was discovered buried in a shallow grave inside a shack at K10 Section, Kutlwanong. During preliminary investigations, officers encountered the suspect, who claimed he was also searching for the victim. However, while police were conducting their search, the man fled the scene, prompting authorities to circulate him as a person of interest.
Through collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community, the suspect was tracked down and arrested in Allanridge on Sunday, 17 August 2025. He faces a charge of murder and is scheduled to make his first court appearance at the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.
