A 28-year-old suspect is set to make his first court appearance in the Thembalethu Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 21 July 2025, following his arrest in connection with drugs worth an estimated R20,000.
The arrest took place on Saturday, 19 July 2025, after Outeniqua K9 unit members conducted crime prevention patrols on Ngcakani Street in Thembalethu. The suspect allegedly fled the scene, prompting a chase by police, who eventually apprehended him.
Upon returning to the vehicle, authorities discovered a black bag containing mandrax tablets. A total of 2,006 tablets were confiscated, leading to the suspect’s arrest on charges of dealing in drugs.
