
Roodepoort, Gauteng – A 39-year-old suspect has been formally charged in connection with the brutal murder of 14-year-old Likhona Fose, whose mutilated body was discovered in bushes near her home in Durban Deep, Roodepoort, last week.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo confirmed the arrest, stating that the accused is set to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
The case saw a swift development after police initially detained a person of interest for questioning earlier in the day. Authorities later secured enough evidence to charge the suspect in connection with the teenager’s death.
The gruesome discovery of Likhona’s body has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents demanding justice for the young victim.
