Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) from specialized units operating across District borders have successfully arrested drug dealers in small towns, disrupting illegal narcotics operations.
The Khowa (Elliot) K9 Unit was conducting high-visibility patrols when they received a tip-off about a drug dealer in the area. Acting swiftly, the officers proceeded to Vincent Park, where they identified and searched the suspect. During the search, they discovered 44 sachets of crystal meth, 23 straws containing crystal meth, and 4 Boss Mandrax tablets of varying sizes in his possession.
In a separate operation, the same team followed up on credible intelligence in Ugie’s Bekela Township, leading to the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect found with 14 sachets of crystal meth.
Both suspects are expected to appear in their respective courts soon, facing charges of dealing in drugs.
