Al Jama-ah, a South African political party, has set an ambitious target of securing one million votes in next year’s local government elections. The party, which celebrated 18 years of existence, held a rally in its stronghold of Lenasia, where leader Ganief Hendricks criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for spreading “false claims” of white genocide in South Africa.

Ambitious Election Goals

Addressing supporters, Hendricks announced the launch of a “one million members campaign,” aiming to secure at least 10 parliamentary seats in the 2026 national and provincial elections. “The residents of Lenasia have entrusted Al Jama-ah to lead them,” Hendricks said. “This campaign will enable one or more of us to become cabinet ministers or deputy ministers.”

The party is also targeting naturalized citizens, particularly the Pakistani community, expressing confidence that the 85,000 registered Pakistani voters would back Al Jama-ah. “There’s no other party for them to vote for,” Hendricks claimed.

Geopolitical Stance and Criticism of Trump

Hendricks took aim at Donald Trump, dismissing his past claims of white genocide in South Africa as a “false flag.” He emphasized that South Africans are “seven times richer today than during apartheid,” rejecting narratives of racial persecution.

The party also reaffirmed its commitment to the Anti-Apartheid Bill, which seeks to hold those responsible for apartheid-era atrocities—both locally and internationally—accountable.

Strengthening Ties with China and Russia

Highlighting South Africa’s international alliances, Hendricks praised China and Russia as key trade partners. “People don’t realize how much China has done for us,” he said. “They are our biggest trade partner, empowering and uplifting us. Russia is another crucial ally contributing to our infrastructure and GDP.”

As Al Jama-ah positions itself as a growing political force, its focus remains on expanding its voter base while advocating for economic partnerships and social justice.
