The fight against drug distribution in Western Cape communities received a significant boost after police arrested a suspect for drug dealing on Monday, 19 May 2025.
Members of Operation Restore, conducting crime prevention duties in Delft, noticed an unknown man carrying a plastic bag as he exited a premises in Voorbrug. Acting on instinct, officers stopped and searched the suspect, discovering a large quantity of mandrax tablets in his possession.
The 39-year-old suspect was promptly arrested, and police confiscated 2,108 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R105,400.
The accused is set to appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court today, facing charges of dealing in drugs.
