The Ritavi Police under the Mopani District have launched an investigation into the brutal murder of a 30-year-old woman whose body was discovered next to a local liquor store in Dan Extension, Bindzulani.
The grim discovery was made on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, at approximately 11:11, when police officers on patrol received a report of a murder in the area. Upon arrival at the scene, a man directed them to the lifeless body of a woman lying on the ground with a stab wound to the neck.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were immediately summoned and, upon arrival, confirmed the victim’s death.
The deceased was later positively identified by her husband as Shelmah Malesa, a resident of Dan Extension.
At this stage, the motive for the killing remains unknown, and authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to come forward.
