The body of a man was dumped on the southbound lane of the R102 near the Vincent Dickenson Road robots near Canelands – KZN.
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) on patrol in the area was flagged down by Metro Policemen for assistance.
They directed the RUSA Officer to the body of a male partially concealed by overgrown vegetation on the side of the road.
Upon examination, the deceased was found to have sustained traumatic injuries to his head and body. It is believed that he was assaulted.
Injuries to his ankles were also consistent with bite marks from a dog. Rigor Mortis was also present.
He is suspected to have been murdered at an alternate location and dumped thereafter.
The identity of the deceased has not been established.
