On Wednesday, Crawford International proudly hosted the Matric Class of 2024 at Avianto Estate to celebrate the academic achievements of its top-performing students. The event, which ran from 10h30 to 15h30, gathered the highest achievers from a group of 2044 students across all ADvTECH schools, providing a fitting recognition of their dedication and outstanding accomplishments.
Awards were presented in several categories, including those for students with the most distinctions and top performers within the ADvTECH group. These students have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to their studies, culminating in exemplary results. Notably, for the first time since 2016, ADvTECH had four students achieving ten distinctions – all from Crawford International.
A highlight of the ceremony was the heartfelt tributes from the students to the teachers who have supported them throughout their academic careers. Each student selected a teacher to recognise for their contribution, acknowledging the significant role teachers play in shaping their success. Teacher awards were also presented, recognising the passion and dedication that has shaped the Individualised educational journeys.

The principals of the top-performing students delivered speeches, bidding farewell to their students with pride and admiration, acknowledging their achievements, and wishing them well for the future.
Ms Desiree Hugo, ADvTECH Schools Division: Head of Academics and Managing Director of Niche Schools, shared a powerful message of congratulations, quoting Nelson Mandela: “Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again.” She reminded the students that the path ahead will bring challenges, but it is in overcoming those hurdles that true character is built. She also added a note of humour, advising the students to enjoy their youth to the fullest as the responsibilities of “adulting” await.

Dr Siza Majola, Managing Director of Crawford International, also addressed the students, highlighting the importance of the occasion: “Today, we not only celebrate the exceptional achievements of these students but also recognise the support of their families, teachers, and mentors. Their success is a testament to the collective efforts of all who have contributed to their journey.”
Among the standout achievers, Diya Ambaram, who achieved the highest results in the ADvTECH group with an outstanding 95.38% average from Crawford International La Lucia, shared her excitement for the future as she prepares to pursue Medicine at Stellenbosch University, joined by her proud parents.
Connor O’Callaghan, who attained a 95.15% average from Crawford International Lonehill, was placed second among more than 2 000 students in the ADvTECH group and second within Crawford International. He will be studying a BA in General Studies with a focus on History at the University of Cape Town, aspiring to become an academic researcher.
Caitlin Hutcheson, who secured third place in the ADvTECH group with a 94.23% average and 10 distinctions, was also recognised among the top achievers.
Of the 30 Top Achiever Awards presented across the ADvTECH group, 22 were awarded to students from Crawford International, underscoring the consistent excellence demonstrated by its students across campuses.

As these Crawford Alumni students embark on the next chapter of their academic and professional lives, Crawford International extends its best wishes for their continued success.
