The Gauteng Traffic Police has arrested a 37-year-old minibus taxi driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The arrest occurred during a Driver Vehicle Fitness operation at Commissioner Street in Boksburg to ensure road safety, driver competency and reduce collisions.
Drunk driving remains one of the leading causes of accidents and road fatalities therefore law enforcement agencies will not tolerate irresponsible behaviour.
The Gauteng Traffic Police will continue to conduct regular operations and high-visibility patrols.
Those who break the law will face consequences.
