Pakistani businessman arrested for murder and hijacking

A firearm used in the murder of a Pakistani National has been recovered and the suspect sought in the matter was arrested by Reaction Officers.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to an apartment on Thompson Lane in the Verulam CBD – KZN after receiving reports of a shooting and hijacking yesterday afternoon (Thursday). On arrival, it was established that the owner of a cellphone shop shot and killed an employee at a flat they were sharing. The suspect fired shots at a second male before fleeing to the basement where he hijacked a grey Hyundai Sonata.

All three men are Pakistani Nationals. The injured man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Reaction Officers tracked the vehicle and recovered it abandoned on Old Main Road in Ottawa – KZN.
