Midlands EMS crews, along with the Midlands EMS K9 Unit, were dispatched to the Mphophomeni area shortly before 22:30 for an off-duty SAPS member who had been shot.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the SAPS member was in a serious condition and required urgent medical care.
After being stabilized on the scene, the patient was transported to a Level 1 trauma hospital for further treatment….
