A man was killed and two others injured this morning after a shooting incident at a business on Prince Alfred Road in Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and were lead to a light motor vehicle, where they found the patients.
Upon assessment, they found a woman lying inside a light motor vehicle while two men were found lying outside their vehicle.
Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one man had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.
The woman was assessed and found to have sustained numerous gunshot wounds and was in a critical condition. The second man was found with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and was also in a critical condition.
Paramedics treated both patients and provided them with several advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
