Rescue Care paramedics responded to the scene of a shooting at Pelgrim train station on Fayers Place in Isipingo this afternoon.
Paramedics arrived to find an active shooting scene, the circumstances surrounding this are unclear to us.
Under police guard our medics were escorted through dense bush to find an injured officer.
He was treated for a gunshot wound and was then carried to a police helicopter.
With the advanced life support paramedic, the officer was airlifted to Netcare St Augustine’s Hospital.
