A 40-year-old Indian male was stabbed twice during a robbery in Verulam – KwaZulu Natal yesterday.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were dispatched to Antelope Place in Mountview – Verulam after receiving a call from the victim’s family requesting medical assistance for the injured man. Upon arrival, it was established that the victim was returning from work when he was dropped off on the R102. While crossing into Mountview on foot, he was accosted by two suspects who were armed with knives.
The suspects robbed the victim of his Samsung cell phone and his wallet before stabbing him twice. They then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim managed to walk to his home in Antelope Place when his family contacted RUSA for assistance.
Paramedics stabilized the man on the scene before transporting him to hospital.
