On Monday 3 October 2016 at 18:20 members of the Western Cape Flying Squad Unit searched a residence in Tambotie Street, Forest Heights, Eersteriver after receiving an anonymous complaint from the public regarding suspected drug activities. The members searched the house and found large quantity of dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Also on the premises a white Mercedes Benz truck was discovered with a trailer set up as a hydroponic laboratory. Inside the truck they found 18 trees in pots, 11 lights, 13 fans, 11 electric transformers, and other soil materials.

Three males aged 26, 28 and 31 and two females aged 27 and 30 were arrested for dealing in dagga, possession of dagga and cultivating of dagga. The five suspects are due to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ Court once they have been charged.
