SAPS members of the JGD OCC (Joe Gqabi District Operational Command Centre) managed to arrest a 49-year-old suspect with a large quantity of drugs.
On Monday, 4 April 2022, the members were conducting crime prevention duties. It is while they were busy with the duties, that they received information of a male that is known for transporting drugs into Aliwal North.
The suspect was apprehended at a petrol garage in Rouxville with Crystal Meth (Tik) to the value of R100 000-00.
At the Police station, after he asked to be taken to the toilet, he tried to escape and SAPS members managed to restrain him.
The suspect will appear before court for attempt to escape, defeating the end of justice, assault on police member and possession and dealing in drugs.
