A Bluff resident and her child were lucky to be unharmed during a home invasion where they were held at gunpoint by a gang of three intruders on Tuesday afternoon.
“Blue Security was alerted to the incident by an incoming panic activation received by the Control Room. An armed-response officer raced to the scene to discover that the three armed suspects had held up the woman and her child at gunpoint before ransacking the home,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Andreas Mathios.
The men, wearing balaclavas and gloves, had accessed the property by jumping over a palisade fence. They then entered the house through an open door and forced the two victims, at gunpoint, into a small bedroom.
“The suspects fled in a getaway vehicle with items including jewellery, a substantial amount of cash, two TVs, two cellphones, a laptop, Sony PlayStation and VR set, sunglasses and two sets of car keys and the house keys,” Mathios said.
Brighton Beach SAPS attended the scene and investigations are continuing.
