A man linked to the taxi industry was killed after he was shot multiple times at the entrance of Trenance Park, Verulam in Kwazulu Natal on Thursday morning, 7 January 2021 .
A resident contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 07:34 reporting the shooting. Reaction Officers responded to Cottonwood Drive and on arrival found a man lying on the roadside in a prone position. He was bleeding profusely from gunshot wounds to his head and back and died at the scene.
At least eight spent 9mm cartridges were recovered. The deceased is believed to in his late twenties or early thirties. The motive for the shooting has not been established at this stage.
A case of murder is being investigated.
