A farm attack took place on the night on 7 October 2020, at 21:00, in Darnall, near Stanger, on the North coast, in the KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. An elderly woman who resides in one of the houses on the farm was attacked by three attackers armed with knives. She was overpowered, assaulted, tied up and stabbed in the leg. The attackers ransacked the home and ripped the alarm system from the wall.
The attackers, who were under the influence of alcohol, spent time drinking and carrying items out of the home over a long period through the night and eventually fled leaving the woman tied up.
The woman only managed to get free and raise the alarm the following day in the afternoon. She was admitted to hospital after receiving medical attention. The attackers fled with household items including a DVD player, clothes and her phone. There have been no arrests.
