The South African Police Service in Lephalale have opened a case of Arson for investigations, after three offices of the Lephalale Municipal licence department were destroyed in a fire on the night of 4 February 2020, at about 21:00.

It is alleged that the Police were alerted about the building that was on fire and reacted swiftly together with the fire and rescue services. The firefighters managed to extinguish the fire which had already consumed three licence department offices, causing an estimated damage of over R100 000-00.

The cause of fire has not yet been established but the ongoing Police investigations will tell.
