Tsogo Sun employees Leeba Lesuthu (49) and Jeffrey Moodley appeared in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crime Court for allegedly stealing more than R4 million from their employer.
Lesethu and Moodley who were responsible for the security and human resource sections, were arrested on Wednesday, 14 August 2019, by the Durban Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team. They allegedly created ghost employees and paid more than R4 million salaries into fictitious accounts.
Preliminary investigation revealed the said salaries were ultimately withdrawn by them.
They were charged with 259 counts of fraud and subsequently granted R10 000.00 bail each, the case was postponed to the 12 September 2019.
