The Stellenbosch Detectives, Sergeant Adams and Sergeant Appollis thorough investigation skills ensured conviction of four men on a murder case of 81 year old Marie Verwey. The deceased was found murdered in her residence at Cynerades Paradyskloof, Stellenbosch in February 2018.
The four accused were arrested shortly after the incident and on 21 June 2019, they were found guilty and their sentences are as follows:
Nicolize Geldenhuys, Murder – Life imprisonment, Robbery – 15 years
Jerome Hendricks, Murder – 28 years, Robbery- 12 years
Enrico Malherbe, Murder – 23 years, Robbery- 12 years
Andre Coetzee, Murder – 23 years, Robbery- 12 years
The SAPS Western Cape management welcome the sentence and commends the investigation team for ensuring conviction of the perpetrators.
