Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting at a shopping Centre in Greenstone Hill.
Reports from the scene indicate that a male security guard sustained a gunshot wound to his face during a robbery.
The patient was treated on scene and transported in a stable condition to hospital by another private ambulance service for further assessment and care.
All necessary authorities were on scene.
