A 34-year-old man was arrested in Wonderboompoort on Monday, June 8, 2026, facing multiple charges including possession of suspected stolen property, contravention of the Immigration Act, and bribery.
The arrest followed the recovery of electronic devices valued at approximately R250,000. The victim of the theft has positively identified three of the recovered devices as his property, while police investigations continue to establish the ownership of the remaining items.
During the arrest, the suspect allegedly attempted to bribe the responding officers with R10,000 in an effort to avoid custody. The cash was confiscated by authorities, leading to the addition of a bribery charge to the suspect’s docket.
