At 16H14 Saturday afternoon Netcare 911 responded to reports of drowning at Dakota Beach in Isipingo Durban South.
Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male sustained had difficulty keeping afloat in the choppy waters.
The man was pulled out by bystanders by the time medics arrived on scene.
He was found to be semi-concious and was treated on scene for symptoms of near drowning.
Once stabilized he was transported to hospital for further treatment.
