Two rape accused appeared before Warrenton magistrates’ court

Warrenton police apprehended two men accused of raping two girls aged 16 and 17 and brought them before the Warrenton Magistrates’ Court.

It is alleged that on Saturday, 19 May 2018 the suspects accosted the girls and took them into a house in Warrenvale, Warrenton and took turns raping them.

The suspects were arrested shortly after one of the girls accosted broke loose and ran to report the matter to the police, and were charged with rape and attempted rape.

On Monday, 21 May 2018 both suspects made a brief appearance before the Warrenton Magistrates’ Court and they were remanded in police custody for further investigation.

We will continue to fight heinous crimes against women and children. Communities are encouraged to work in partnership with the police to uproot criminals from our society and put them in jail.
