On 1 February 2018, at around 20:35 a 45 year old off duty police sergeant stationed at Lentegeur SAPS, succumbed to his injuries after he was shot outside his residence in Jama Street, Site B Khayelitsha, during a robbery.
The two unknown suspects demanded his firearm, which was left at the police station for safekeeping.
They fled the scene with a cellular telephone and an undisclosed amount of cash, and are yet to be arrested.
