A 40-year-old journalist, Janice Ohlson, from Media24 and a co-accused, 41-year-old Munier Abrahams, are in custody after a year-long investigation.
140 complaints of fraud were brought against the two following falsified work schedules that they issued to Correctional Services in respect of work schedules for parole prisoners.
In the schedules, they indicated that people who are on parole were working for them. It allowed those to move freely in the Western Cape and commit crimes.
