The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Risimati Shivuri has lauded the swift response displayed by Crime Intelligence and Kimberley Crime Prevention members when they confiscated drugs and arrested a 39 year old man.
ON 11 January 2018, the members received a tip off from a community member about a taxi from Griekwastad transporting drugs.
Immediately the information was followed up and the suspect was found at a hiking spot to Griekwastad. He was searched and 189 mandrax tablets were found in his possession. He was arrested and is expected to appear before Kimberley Magistrates’ Court on a charge of dealing in drugs.
Lieutenant General Risimati Shivuri thanked community members for working together with the police in ensuring that the streets are rid of drugs and those who break the law face the consequences.
