A 20 year old man has been killed in a shack fire. The incident occurred at about 03:00 on Saturday, 02 December 2017 in Greenpoint at the Marula Shanties, near Kimberley.
Apparently the deceased was asleep inside his shanty, when it caught fire and burned down.
He burned and was certified dead. We have opened an inquest docket into his death.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, however the investigation is on going to determine the exact cause of the fire.
