The Police in this Province is committed in removing dangerous criminals from the streets.
Two rapists, Laurence Molongwana aged 26 and Peter Langa aged 31 were each given life sentences by the Mahwelereng Regional Court for the gang rape incident of a 25 year old woman.
These sentences arose from the incident which occurred in Ditlotswane village in the Bakenburg area outside Mokopane in the early hours of the 23rd October 2016 when the duo forcefully took the victim to one of the accused’s homestead where they both raped her.
The victim managed to escape the next morning and went to report the incident to the Police who through their swift response arrested the accused.
The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended the Team of Detectives who worked tirelessly with professionalism and dedication that led to the conviction and sentencing of these criminals.
