Efforts to fight the proliferation of illegal firearms in the Humansdorp Cluster paid off this morning, 30 November 2017, at about 00:40, when a 32 year old male was arrested with an unlicensed firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
As part of the festive season operations, members from the Humansdorp Cluster was busy conducting a multi disciplinary roadblock on the N2, close to Storms River, during the early hours of this morning, 30 November 2017.
Members continued with their duties and it resulted in the following additional successes: A total of 83 vehicles were stopped and 163 persons were searched. Eight traffic related fines to the value of R8 500-00 were issued. The South African Police Service will continue with their Back to Basics approach, with the aim to intensify operations in order to ensure the safety of all citizens.
Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brigadier John Lebok thanked the members for their efforts and vigilance in ensuring that they bring those culprits who break the law, to book.
