EASTERN CAPE — An intelligence-led police operation has led to multiple Addo drug dealing arrests, with authorities taking three suspects into custody after uncovering a cache of illicit narcotics.
The coordinated law enforcement action took place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, when members of the Makhanda Crime Prevention Unit, the Highway Patrol Unit, and a specialized K9 Unit jointly executed search warrants at targeted premises within the town.
During the searches, officers successfully seized a variety of illegal substances, specifically Mandrax, Tik, Cat, and dagga. The combined estimated street value of the confiscated drugs amounts to R4,000. In addition to the narcotics, law enforcement officials impounded a Volkswagen Polo, which has been retained for further investigative purposes.
The three apprehended individuals, whose ages range between 24 and 35, are currently being held on charges of dealing in drugs. They are expected to make their first appearance before the Nqweba Magistrate’s Court in the near future.
