Alberton, South Africa – On the 8th of August at approximately 4pm. Community Protection Services (CPS) received a vehicle lookout regarding a silver polo which was involved in an attempted break in at the New Redruth area.
2 of the CPS tactical vehilces picked up the vehicle and a high speed chase occurred after a SAP vehicle attempted to pull the suspects over.
Several shots were fired at CPS members during the chase. The silver polo collided with a green Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Klipriver Drive and the N12 highway. Unfortunately the passenger of the Corolla passed away on the scene.
2 suspects were arrested and 1 firearm was recovered.
It was later discovered that the silver polo was positively stolen in Pretoria.
