US President Barack Obama says the ability to possess “powerful weapons” increases the likelihood of attacks with high death tolls, speaking after overnight shootings in Dallas, Texas, and hinting at the need for more debate on gun control.
“We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately, it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic. In the days ahead, we are going to have to confront those realities as well,” he said, speaking from Warsaw, where he is
attending a NATO summit.
