MOSCOW – Nothing indicates that shooting incidents across the southern German city of Munich on Friday were an act of Islamist terrorism, a police spokesman said as quoted by the media.

According to the Guardian newspaper, at the moment police does not have any information that would point to Islamist terrorism as the alleged driver behind shootings at the Olympia shopping mall and a nearby street.

Police said six people have been killed in at least two shootings in central Munich and an unidentified number of people injured. It did not confirm reports of other shooting incidents.
