Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris faced sharp criticism following her appearance at a real estate conference on Australia’s Gold Coast, with commentators branding her a “classic DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) failure.”
Harris, who spoke at the event over the weekend, drew backlash for her remarks, which critics dismissed as incoherent “word salads.” During her speech, she joked about her current employment status, saying, “I am unemployed right now,” while also taking a swipe at former President Donald Trump.
Sky News hosts did not hold back in their assessment of Harris’s appearance.
“I’m shocked that she was invited to speak at this conference. She is literally an expert in nothing,” Tate said. “The only reason she became vice president is because Joe Biden boxed himself in by stating on the campaign trail that he wanted a Black female as his running mate—and that limited his choices dramatically. She is the classic DEI failure.”
They went on to criticize Harris’s speaking style, claiming she strings together “long-sounding words that mean absolutely nothing.”
“She is just so embarrassing and so boring to listen to, actually,” Tate added. “I apologize that you had to deal with her in your country for that trip.”
It was interesting that Harris was invited to speak at a real estate conference, given her lack of expertise in the field.
Harris’s trip to Australia has sparked debate over her political legacy and effectiveness as a leader. Critics continue to question her qualifications and public speaking abilities.
For now, Harris’s Gold Coast appearance has only fueled further discussion—and criticism—about her political future.
