The San Diego Police Department said on Friday it had taken in custody a suspected gunman who shot two police officers, while the search operation continued.
“We have one suspect in custody. We are still searching the area for other possible suspects,” the police said on its Twitter account.
The shooting took place in San Diego earlier in the day. The condition of the officers is unknown, according to the city police.
Police called on the residents of the area where the operation is taking place to stay at home.
