Dhyan Foundation has always strived to save any and every animal in need as incidents of atrocities towards animals are on an unimaginable high but a more serious concern is the atrocities which animal saviors have to undergo.

In 2015 an animal activist was standing at a check post where there was no police. He tried to stop the cattle smugglers but he was shot at. The smugglers shot at him and ran away. He lost his hand fingers in the encounter. His “crime” was that he was trying to stop illegal trafficking of cattle. FIR was done in Gurugram police station. The suspects were Mewatis but no one has been nabbed so far.

On Aug 2016 illegal cattle trafficking trucks were getting loaded in Erode district in Tamilnadu. When the activists were video recording the crime in the police presence, a crowd gathered at the spot. A group of boys crossed the road and started moving towards the animal activist car. They attacked them with weapons. The activist somehow managed to escape from the spot to save their lives and directly rushed to SP office. A woman activist, Joshine Anthony, was badly injured with a fracture in arm. The case is registered in Chithode police station in Erode district. FIR no is 94/2016.

In yet another case, in Karnataka, Nelamangala, Aug 6 2016 near Navyuga toll. A woman activist, Kavita, was attacked early morning by the escorts of an illegal trucks carrying cattle for slaughter.
The activists were attacked, abused and intimidated. Their Vehicle was blocked, sharp objects were hurled at them. A rear right window of their car was broken and a woman activist received severe injuries. The case was registered in Bellur Cross police station under fir number 75/2016.
There are 1000s of illegal cattle trafficking vehicles moving on the highways and a standard routine is followed.

A common man who is the citizen of India can report about any crime but these cow protectors are attacked by goons and harassed.

Yesterday morning again four animal activists, including Joshine Anthony, were attacked in Bangalore city, Karnataka, India. 5 men came in a car which was escorting the two cattle trafficking vehicles. They broke the activists’ car windshield by throwing objects at them.
