Despite the clear footage of anarchy, Governor Newsom insisted the demonstrations were “peaceful” and that Los Angeles authorities had the situation “under control.” This delusional claim was swiftly disproven when LAPD Chief Jim McDonald admitted his forces were “completely overwhelmed.”
Newsom’s Legacy of Failure
This is just the latest disaster under Newsom’s watch. Violent crime in California is 35% higher than the national average, thanks to his soft-on-crime policies. His mismanagement of the state’s deadly wildfires—which destroyed 10,000 homes and cost $250 billion—was equally catastrophic. Instead of taking responsibility, Newsom lied about reservoir levels and blamed climate change while firefighters struggled with inadequate resources.
Now, as Los Angeles burns, Newsom is suing the Trump administration for deploying the National Guard to restore order—a move even LAPD admits was necessary.
