In a major legal development, former Nagad top executives Tanvir A Mishuk and Md Shafayet Alam have been fully cleared of all corruption allegations filed by Bangladesh’s Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

After months of investigation and court proceedings, the ACC has officially withdrawn the case, citing a lack of credible evidence. The allegations—centered on an alleged misappropriation of Tk 645 crore—were found to be unsupported by forensic audits and expert financial analysis.

The Dhaka court ruling emphasized that the claims were based on misinformation and lacked factual substance. Legal experts further noted that the case appeared to have been influenced by political motivations.

Barrister Nawshad Jamir, representing the defence, stated:
“This outcome confirms that the case had no merit. It reinforces the importance of due process in protecting individuals from politically influenced allegations.”

The decision has drawn widespread reaction from the business community, with industry leaders stressing the need for accountability in the dissemination of unverified claims.

Both Mishuk and Alam’s legal teams are considering legal recourse against parties involved in initiating the accusations.
