The Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TsNIITochMash, part of Rostec) has begun preparations for the certification of the sports version of the newest self-loading 9×19 pistol, developed from the 9-mm Udav pistol. Certification will make it possible to export the gun to foreign markets.

The civilian version of the Boa, 9×19 mm in size, is designed for professional shooter sportsmen, and its tactical and technical characteristics make it possible to compete with foreign analogs of well-known brands.

“The new Udav pistol complex developed by TsNIITochMash has passed government testing and was recommended for mass production. We have already begun preparing for the certification of the civilian version of Udav, which will make it possible to export the gun. We intend to promote it on foreign markets, including Latin America, the Middle East, India, China and Southeast Asia,” said Sergei Abramov, industrial director of the arms cluster of Rostec State Corporation.

The 9-mm Udav self-loading pistol with experimental design work is a completely Russian development. The gun has a high magazine capacity of 18 rounds and, thanks to the use of composite materials, the Udav weighs only 780 grams.

TsNIITochMash presented all four modifications of the Udav pistol for the first time at the Army-2019 International Military-Technical Forum, which was held from June 25 to June 30 in the Moscow Region. The forum displayed special-purpose and general-purpose 9×21-mm pistols, as well as the latest 9×19-mm tactical and sports pistols.
