The Bulls delivered a commanding performance on Saturday, overpowering the Dragons with a resounding 55-15 victory in their final round-robin United Rugby Championship (URC) match at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
The Pretoria-based side put on a scintillating display, showcasing their dominance in the scrum and unleashing a relentless attacking game that left the Welsh visitors scrambling. The Bulls crossed the try line nine times, securing not only a bonus-point win but also second place on the URC log.
From the outset, the Bulls’ forward pack imposed their physicality, laying the foundation for their backs to exploit gaps with precision. Apart from a brief resurgence from the Dragons in the first 10 minutes after halftime, the home side dictated play throughout, reducing their opponents to mere spectators for much of the contest.
The match also carried emotional significance as the Bulls paid tribute to former player Cornal Hendricks, who passed away earlier in the week. The team honored his memory with a performance that echoed the passion and skill he brought to the game.
With the playoffs looming, this statement victory reinforces the Bulls’ status as serious title contenders, blending brute strength up front with flair and creativity in the backline. The Dragons, meanwhile, were left to reflect on a humbling defeat as they head home with plenty to reassess.
