The so-called state of the nation of ANC leader Jacob Zuma was actually more an ANC address after most political parties left parliament and virtually only the ANC stayed to applaud their leader.
The parliament was once again severely disrupted, in acting as a “chaotic low” as described by FF + leader Dr. Pieter Groenewald. He said because of the actions of the EFF and its supporters in the public gallery, it reached a point for the FF Plus where he would rather get out.
A type of tear gas was also sprayed at the gallery between the public and supporters of the EFF. The safety of our guests was threatened. These actions in Parliament confirmed the fact that South Africa has indeed turned into a banana republic.
In the chair, the presiding officers could not control the calculated chaos that had continued uninterrupted for more than an hour. This eventually led to chaos and vandalism where chairs were broken, water bottles and hard hats were tossed around.
If such misconduct in the highest council chambers of the country takes place that should serve as an example for all South Africans. How can it be expected of the public to obey the laws and regulations of the country?
The ANC and EFF should take full responsibility for this vandalistic actions in parliament.
For the FF Plus, it would be inappropriate to associate with such circumstances in parliament. This is an embarrassment, and the FF Plus, therefore, left the building, says Dr. Groenewald.
After the EFF was removed, their municipal coalition partners, the Democratic Alliance, also left the building.
After more than an hour later, when Zuma gave his speech, it was said to be more of a lamentation about blacks do not control the economy or own land.
