Eight months after a magistrate found Duduzane Zuma was negligent and caused the death of a passenger in a rental car, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decided not to continue with the criminal charges.
Even NPA’s people are surprised that Zuma has not been prosecuted, as the magistrate’s verdict indicates that he must be held accountable and it is obviously a prima facie case.
Other observers are not so surprised and pointed out that it is the same department Zuma senior was not prosecuted on 783 complaints of corruption.
According to information, Zuma Jnr has with the help of a lawyer paid off R7 000 traffic fines before the investigation began after his accident. The attorney in question apparently received R 700 000 to “clean up” Zuma’s image.
It is also asked what strings were pulled by his father to get the Gupta associate young Zuma free from prosecution, and again question the NPA’s impartiality.
