Zuma gets protests as birthday gift

Die Vryburger

The ANC head of state, Jacob Zuma celebrates his 75th birthday, and the greatest gift that any head of state can receive is to get the people in the street.

It happened indeed, but not with the purpose to congratulate him but to tell him that should take his stuff and run as head of state.

Several protests are planned against Zuma after his recent performance and severe damage done to the country last week.

Observers, however, believe that Zuma will not be to disturbed by the marches. He has the support of the ANC, which ultimately determines who the president is. Zuma will not resign because he will lose his immunity, which could mean that the 783 corruption charges against him which is currently on ice, can continue and it could mean that he will spend his last years of life in prison, while still aspirating to be mayor of Nkandla.

One of the parties joining the protests against Zuma support, FF +, said the marches must be effective.

The party’s leader, Dr. Pieter Groenewald, said there must be a guard against too many marches so that they do not lose their appeal.

“Processions that arise spontaneously from civil society also carry much more weight than when political party marches occur. Since actions organized against the ANC by political parties will be considered mere politicking and will dismiss the cause.”

“However, when the citizenry, spontaneously act in revolt, the ANC government will not be able to dismiss as easy as insignificant and will take note of the problem.”

“The FF Plus also called on church and religious leaders to take the lead and firmly address the moral decay in the ANC,” said Dr. Groenewald.
