Pretoria, South Africa – A woman sustained injuries after she was attacked by three men during a hijacking at Fort Klapperkop, the Hi Risk Unit told Rekord.
Spokesperson Marcé Bester said a couple from the Univesity of Pretoria were sitting on a bench at around 12:00 on Friday at Fort Klapperkop with the university’s vehicle parked nearby.
“Three guys approached them and attacked them. They hijacked the car and the couple ran to get help. The lady fell behind but the man continued running until he managed to flag down a Hi Risk Unit in Groenkloof on Herbert Baker Avenue,” said Bester.
Bester said they contacted the university’s fleet manager who activated the car’s tracking device.
“We managed to recover the vehicle in the Fort Klapperkop premises, but the girl was missing. We started searching for her along with the K9 Unit in the Pretoria CBD and Sunnyside. She was found near the Sunnyside police station. She had sustained injuries from the attack and the fall and was sent to hospital,” he said.
The three hijackers are still at large…
